Introductie Introduction
VisualStamp is een elektronische postzegelcatalogus (computerprogramma voor het Windows platform) en heeft dezelfde 'look and feel' als een catalogus op papier. De inhoud (de gegevens) en vormgeving van deze elektronische versie is vergelijkbaar met de Speciale Catalogus Nederland en Overzeese Rijksdelen op papier uitgegeven door de NVPH in Nederland. Voor een zinvol gebruik is het echter wel noodzakelijk dat de CatView (editie 2000) catalogus op CD beschikbaar is. VisualStamp maakt namelijk gebruik van de gegevens (en afbeeldingen) die beschikbaar zijn op deze CD. Voor de demo versie is de CatView catalogus niet benodigd. Het gebruik van deze CatView catalogus impliceert dus ook dat de prijsnoteringen in Nederlandse Guldens zijn en dus niet in Euro's en dat slechts de catalogusgegevens bekend zijn tot het jaar 2000. VisualStamp is an electronic stamp catalogue (software package for the Windows platform) and has the same 'look and feel' as a catalogue on paper. The contents (the data) and layout of this electronic version is comparable to the Speciale Catalogus Nederland en Overzeese Rijksdelen on paper issued by the NVPH in The Netherlands. For a meaningfull usage however, it is required that the CatView (edition 2000) catalogue on CD is available. VisualStamp uses the information (and images) that is available on this CD. The demo version does not require the CatView catalogue. The usage of this CatView catalogue also implies that the quotations are in Dutch Guilders, so not in Euro's and that catalogue information only goes to the year 2000.
Vanaf versie 1.1 is het mogelijk om ook catalogusgegevens handmatig in te voeren, zodat VisualStamp ook zinvol gebruikt kan worden zonder de CatView catalogus. From version 1.1 it is possible to also manually enter catalogue information, so that VisualStamp can also be used meaningfull without the CatView catalogue.
Vanaf versie 1.2 is het mogelijk om albumbladen af te drukken voor bijvoorbeeld speciaalverzamelingen. From version 1.2 it is possible to print album pages for, for example, specialized collections.
De bediening van de catalogus en het administreren van de stempelverzameling is zéér eenvoudig en alles is ondergebracht in één scherm. De volgende afbeelding illustreert de vormgeving van de catalogus: Using the catalogue and maintaining the stamp collection is very simple. De belangrijkste mogelijkheden van VisualStamp zijn: The most important features of VisualStamp are:
  • Het onderhouden van de verzameling; een klik op een prijsnotering met de linkermuistoets markeert een zegel (of serie) als zijnde aanwezig in de verzameling, met de rechtermuistoets als zijnde manco.
  • Het tonen/verbergen van de details van een zegel. Indien getoond, dan kunnen alle gegevens van een zegel (en de variėteit-, de serie-, de type- en de land-gegevens waartoe de zegel behoort) worden gewijzigd. Ook kunnen bij de zegelgegevens de Scott-, Michel-, Yvert & Tellier- en Stanley Gibbons-nummers worden opgegeven wat een 'cross-reference' mogelijk maakt tussen het NVPH nummer en de nummers uit deze catalogi.
  • Het snel bladeren door de catalogus.
  • Het snel zoeken van een zegel op het NVPH-, Scott-, Michel-, Yvert & Tellier- of Stanley Gibbons-nummer.
  • Het instellen van het aantal kolommen waarin de catalogus wordt weergegeven.
  • Het tonen/verbergen van de variėteiten. Indien niet getoond, dan wordt de catalogus een soort 'junior' editie.
  • Het tonen van vier verschillende overzichten:
    • De volledige catalogus; alle zegels
    • De verzameling; alle zegels die gemarkeerd staan als aanwezig
    • De mancolijst (want-list); alle zegels die gemarkeerd staan als manco
    • De doubletten (have-list); alle zegels die meer dan één keer als aanwezig gemarkeerd staan
  • Het tonen/verbergen van de individuele zegel-, serie- en variėteit-gegevens per overzicht zoals hierboven beschreven; alleen het NVPH-nummer, de waarde, de kleur en de 'gebruikt'-prijsnotering kunnen niet worden verborgen.
  • De keuze tussen Nederlands en Engels voor de gebruikersinterface (de catalogusgegevens zijn Nederlands).
  • Het afdrukken is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), dat betekent exact gelijk als getoond op het scherm.
  • Het toevoegen (of verwijderen) van zegel-, variėteit-, serie-, type-, land-, collectie-gegevens.
  • Het afdrukken van albumbladen voor bijvoorbeeld speciaalverzamelingen.
  • Maintaining the stamp collecting; a click on a quotation with the left mouse button marks the stamp (or series) as present, with the right mouse button as missing.
  • Showing/hiding the details of a stamp. When shown, then all characteristics of a stamp (and the variety-, series-, type- and country-characteristics to which the stamp belongs) can be modified. Also the Scott-, Michel-, Yvert & Tellier- en Stanley Gibbons number can be specified which makes a 'cross-reference' possible between the NVPH number and one of the numbers from these catalogues.
  • Fast browsing in the catalogue.
  • Fast searching of a stamp on NVPH-, Scott-, Michel-, Yvert & Tellier- or Stanley Gibbons-number.
  • Setting the number of columns over which the catalogue is presented.
  • Showing/hiding the varieties. When hidden, then the catalogue becomes a kind of 'junior' edition.
  • Showing four different overviews:
    • The complete catalogue; all stamps
    • The collection; all stamps that are marked as present
    • The want-list; all stamps that are marked as missing
    • The have-list; all stamps that are marked more than once as present
  • Showing/hiding of the individual stamp-, series-, varieties-characteristics per overview as described before; only the NVPH-number, the value, the color and the 'used'-quotation can not be hidden.
  • The choice between Dutch and English for the user interface (the catalogue information is Dutch).
  • Printing is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), this means exactly as shown on the screen.
  • Adding (or removing) stamp-, variety-, series-, type-, country- and collection information.
  • Printing album pages for, for example, specialized collections.
maar heeft onder andere niet de volgende mogelijkheden: but does not have the following features:
  • Het invoeren van allerlei aan- en verkoopgegevens zoals prijs, datum, kwaliteit, etc.
  • Statistieken op de verzameling zoals totalen, etc.
  • Uitgebreide selektiekriteria zoals op thema, ontwerper, etc.
  • Specifying buy/sell-information like price, date, quality, etc.
  • Statistics on the collection like totals, etc.
  • Comprehensive selection criteria like on theme, designer, etc.
Deze mogelijkheden komen wellicht in toekomstige versies. These types of features may be part of future versions.

Systeemvereisten System Requirements
VisualStamp is ontwikkeld op het Window® XP besturingssysteem. Het is tevens getest op het Windows® NT besturingssysteem. Overigens zal het dan ook op de overige Windows 32-bits besturingssystemen moeten werken (95 Second Edition, 98, 2000). Minimale RAM geheugen is 128 MB. Het scherm zou tenminste 16.000 kleuren moeten ondersteunen. Een 15" scherm op resolutie 1024x768 geeft een fraai resultaat (4 kolommen) omdat dit vergelijkbaar is met het formaat van de NVPH catalogus (en A4 landscape formaat). De benodigde vrije ruimte op de harde schijf is ongeveer 150 MB. Voor het afdrukken is een printer benodigd met grafische ondersteuning (en die voldoende geheugen heeft). Lijnprinters kunnen niet gebruikt worden voor het afdrukken. VisualStamp is developed on the Windows® XP operating system. It has also been tested on the Windows® NT operating system. It should also work on the other Windows 32-bits operating systems (95 Second Edition, 98, 2000). Minimum RAM memory is 128 MB. The screen should support at least 16.000 colors. A 15" screen on resolution 1024x768 shows a very nice result (4 columns) since this is alsmost similar to the NVPH catalogue format (and A4 landscape format). The required free disk space is approximately 150 MB. For printing a printer is required that supports graphics (and that has sufficient memory). Line printers can not be used.

Een volledig functionerende demo versie is beschikbaar van VisualStamp, met uitzondering dat wijzigingen in de verzameling niet permanent bewaard worden. Voor de demo versie hoeft de CatView CD niet beschikbaar te zijn, echter de demo versie kent dan slechts een beperkt aantal zegelgegevens en dan zijn er tevens geen zegelafbeeldingen. Jammer genoeg is er slechts een zeer beperkte ondersteuning mogelijk op de demo versie. De eerste maal moet altijd de volledige demo versie geinstalleerd worden, anders moet de laatste versie geinstalleerd worden. A fully functional demo version of VisualStamp is available with the exception that changes in the stamp collection are not permanently stored. For the demo version, it is not required that the CatView CD is available, although the demo version then only has a limited number of stamps and the images are not available. Unfortunately there is only very limited support possible on the demo version. The first time, the full full version should be installed, otherwise the latest version can be installed.

Stap 1. Download het vsdemo.zip bestand.
Om de demo versie te downloaden klik hier met de linkermuistoets, selecteer de optie 'Save this program to disk' en selecteer elke gewenste map (b.v. 'C:\Tmp' or 'C:\Temp') in de 'Save As' dialoog dat volgt om het 'vsdemo.zip' bestand (ca. 6 MB) te bewaren. 		Step 1. Download the vsdemo.zip file.
To download the full version click here with the left mouse button, select the option 'Save this program to disk' and select any folder (e.g. 'C:\Tmp' or 'C:\Temp') in the 'Save As' dialogue that follows to store the 'vsdemo.zip' (approx. 6 MB).

Start the unzipping of the 'vsdemo.zip' file by double clicking on its name in for example the Windows Explorer; this results in unzipping, besides other files, the 'setup.exe' program in the same folder.
Stap 3. Start het setup programma.
Start het zojuist uitgepakte 'setup.exe' programma door dubbel te klikken op de naam in bijvoorbeeld de Windows Verkenner en volg de instructies op het scherm. 		Step 3. Start the setup program.
Start the unzipped 'setup.exe' program by double clicking on its name in for example the Windows Explorer and follow the instructions on the screen.
Stap 4. Verwijder bestanden.
Verwijder het 'vsdemo.zip' bestand en de uitgepakte bestanden 'setup.exe' en de overige bestanden in bijvoorbeeld de Windows Verkenner. De naam van het bestand om VisualStamp te starten is 'VisualStamp.Exe'. 		Step 4. Remove files.
Remove the 'vsdemo.zip' file, the 'setup.exe' file and the other files in for example the Windows Explorer. The name of the executable file to start VisualStamp is 'VisualStamp.Exe'.
Opmerking: Mocht het programma niet korrekt starten na installatie, herstart dan de machine en probeer het opnieuw. Zeer waarschijnlijk is er nog een technisch probleem na installatie op sommige besturingssystemen zodat het programma niet start. De reden hiervan is nog niet gevonden. Note: In case the program does not start correctly after installation, then restart the computer and try it again. Very probably there is a technical problem after installation on some operating systems so that the program does not start. The reason for this has not been found yet.

Registratie Registration
VisualStamp versie 1.X is free-ware. Dit betekent dat er geen kosten verbonden zijn aan het gebruik van een geregistreerde versie 1.X. Echter, dat betekent dan ook dat er slechts beperkte ondersteuning wordt gegeven, of hoeft te worden gegeven, op het programma. De demo versie zal niet de wijzigingen in de verzameling permanent bewaren en wordt de tekst SPECIMEN opgenomen op het albumblad. Na registratie zullen deze wijzigingen in de verzameling wel permanent bewaard worden en wordt de tekst SPECIMEN niet meer opgenomen op albumbladen. Ik heb voor deze registratiemethode gekozen om zo een beeld te krijgen of er voldoende interesse is in zo'n programma. Indien er veel interesse voor is zal ik overwegen om bugs te gaan oplossen, verbeteringen aan te gaan brengen, etc. VisualStamp version 1.X is free-ware. This means no costs are involved on usage of a registered version 1.X. However, this also implies that limited support is given, or needs to be given, on the program. The demo version will not store changes in the stamp collection permanently and the text SPECIMEN is included on album pages. After registration, these changes will be stored permanently and the text SPECIMEN is not included any more on album pages. I have chosen this method of registration to get an idea whether there is enough interest is such a program. When there is sufficient interest, I will consider to solve bugs, implement improvements and new features, etc.
Het e-mail adres wordt het registratiekenmerk. De levering van de registratiesleutel gebeurt via dit e-mail adres. Ondersteuning op de geregistreerde versie gebeurt ook via een (geregistreerd) e-mail adres en hints (betreffende gebruik, installatie, storingen, problemen, etc.) zijn beschikbaar in de Nieuws sectie en de FAQ's sectie. Het e-mail adres zal alleen gebruikt worden voor interne administratie en e-mail kontakt betreffende VisualStamp en zal niet anders dan daarvoor gebruikt worden! The e-mail address will be used for registration. For the delivery of the registration key this e-mail address is used. Support is only possible on a registered e-mail address; hints (on usage, installation, problems, bugs, etc.) can be found in the News and the FAQ's sections. The e-mail address will only be used for internal administration and contact concerning VisualStamp, it will not be used for any other purposes!
Distributie van VisualStamp vindt alleen plaats via het Internet (deze site dus). Voorlopig is het nog niet mogelijk om VisualStamp via een andere wijze (bijvoorbeeld CD) te distribueren! Distribution of VisualStamp will only take place via Internet (this site). For the time being it is not possible to distribute VisualStamp any other way (e.g. CD)!
